The Raman spectra of the complex of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and ethylene carbonate (EC) plasticizer were compared and analysed. It was found that there are interactions between the EC and the PAN molecules through the carbon atom of the C = O group of the EC molecule and the nitrogen atom of the C &24XXXw; N group of the PAN molecule which affect the Raman spectra of EC and PAN to different degrees.
