The self assembly of N,O‐bis(trimethylsilyl)amino acids to form peptides, mediated by o ‐phenylene phosphorochloridate, was investigated by positive ion fast atom bombardment and B/E linked‐scan techniques without isolation and purification prior to analysis. The expected results were confirmed by considering the fragmentation regularity of peptides. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
