Negative‐ion electrospray tandem mass spectra have been recorded on the cysteinyl leukotrienes LTC 4 , LTD 4 , and LTE 4 and a series of related metabolites. Spectra were recorded on a hybrid magnetic sector/time‐of‐flight tandem instrument at a laboratory frame collision energy of 400 eV with Xe as the collision gas. Interpretable spectra were obtained from 10 ng of sample, allowing the structural identification of the compound under study. The collision‐induced dissociation spectra were highly informative, indicating that this technique is suitable for the structural identification of cysteinyl leukotrienes in biological samples.
