The feasibility of performing loss of heterozygosity analysis on microdissected fine‐needle aspiration material from adrenal cortical lesions has been demonstrated. However, a larger number of cases and controls needs to be examined with this technique to determine its sensitivity, specificity, and clinical usefulness in distinguishing adrenal cortical carcinoma from adenoma.
