The local delivery of 5‐fluorouracil by polymeric microspheres is a safe method with which to achieve sustained concentrations of a chemotherapeutic agent in the brain. Further clinical studies are needed to evaluate the effect of drug‐loaded microspheres as radiosensitizers and antitumor agents. See also pages 325–30.
