Fine‐needle aspiration biopsy remains an effective means of sampling of nonpalpable breast lesions. The continuity of the fine‐needle aspiration biopsy procedure requires the participation of the cytopathologist as an active member of a multidisciplinary team. See also pages 226‐30.
