A general investigation of the elementary reactions involved in theactivation processes of zirconocene and Ni‐based derivativesby methylaluminoxane (MAO) was performed through theassociation of polymerization kinetics and spectroscopicinvestigation of the catalytic system. This study demonstrates theclose correlation between polymerization activities and the changesin the UV/visible characteristic absorption bands of thetransition metal derivative used as catalyst.
