A new class of copoly(ether‐carbonate)s wassynthesized using a melt polycondensation reaction of thebis(hydroxyethyl ether) of bisphenol A with bisphenols anddiphenyl carbonate. Copolymers with a wide range of T g values (62–140°C) wereobtained. The copolymer structures were established by 1 HNMR, 13 C NMR and FTIR investigations. © 1998 Societyof Chemical Industry
