Abstract In this study, the electrochemical dechlorination of lindane was catalyzed by a novel cobaloxime, Co(epNpgH) 2 Cl(py) (where epNpgH stands for (4‐ethoxycarboxyl)phenylaminophenylglyoximate and py for pyridine), together with cobaloximes Co(dmgH) 2 Cl(py) and Co(dpgH) 2 Cl(py). The dechlorination kinetics were evaluated by foot‐of‐the‐wave analysis (FOWA), which yielded catalytic rate constants of 7.7 × 10 3  M −1 s −1 for Co(epNpgH) 2 Cl(py), 2.78 × 10 5  M −1 s −1 for Co(dmgH) 2 Cl(py), and 4.19 × 10 4  M −1 s −1 for Co(dpgH) 2 Cl(py). Furthermore, cobaloxime Co(epNpgH) 2 Cl(py) contains an ethyl ester group, which allows its spectroscopic adsorption behavior to be studied on nanocrystalline titanium dioxide thin films. This analysis revealed an adsorption constant of 5.02 × 10 4 .
