Abstract N ‐Aryl phenothiazines find a number of applications in the synthesis of photocatalysts, organic semiconductor polymers, and dyes. The search for new environmentally benign and «green» ways of introducing the phenothiazine fragment into organic molecules, as well as the synthesis of new N ‐aryl phenothiazine structures and the study of their practical properties remains in demand to this day. This concept presents an overview of the production of N ‐aryl phenothiazines under electrochemical and photochemical conditions.
