The purpose of this study was to investigate whether with and without mental disabilities parents of childrens’ between of 4-6 years old self-esteem,types of anxiety and attitude of parents differ based on qualifications of personnel. The study group was composed by 300 parents with mental mental disabilities (150) and without mental disabilities (150) childrens between of 4-6 years old in Konya and EskiĢehir. The data were collected using the Spielberger StateTrait Anxiety Inventory, a method of family life and bringing up children (PARI) and Coopersmith Self-esteem Scale. Analysis of data was used descriptive statistics, t test for independent groups, One Way Anova.. Results indicated that parents self-esteem, trait anxiety, democratic attitude and extreme interest of motherhood scores significantly differed based on state of with mental disability and without mental disability. Parents of children with mental disabilities state anxiety, and pressure disiplin scores significantly differed based on special education and rehabilitation center year go to. Also parents of children with mental disabilities and parents of children without mental disabilities self-esteem, trait anxiety, extreme interest of motherhood and democratic attitude scores significantly differed based on childrens’ age, gender and whether have brother/ sister or not have brother/sister.
