The main objective of this descriptive study is to assess the degree of fulfillment of practices related to patient confidentiality in the hospitals in the context of HQS, from the perspective of health professionals. It was carried out by using a questionnaire to the 471 medical staff working at 2 university hospitals, 4 government hospitals and 9 private hospitals in Konya, in 2015. In order to collect the data, "Health Care Institutions’ patient confidentiality practices questionnaire” which is formed by there searchers with the help of the HQS guide was used. There are 8 titles with 47 questions in the questionnaire. The data obtained from the questionnaire was entered into SPSS 20.0 The descriptive statistics and chi-square test were used on the data. Research participants examined the socio-demographic characteristics; of 244 (51.8%) were in the 19-29 age group ,of 289 (61.4%) were female and of 267 (56.7%) were married, of 158 (33.5%) were university graduates , of 152 (32.3%) worked in the surgical unit, of 300 (63.7%) worked in unit still serving of 0-4 years and of 249 (52.9%) were observed to be nurse. The highest scores of questions relating to applications relating to patient confidentiality; "All of the medical data about patients is recorded (Yes: 92.6% / No: 7.4%)" and "Patients take the single room is ensured imaging (Yes: 91.1% / No: 8.9%)" has taken questions. The scope of the research of the hospital ensuring patient confidentiality at the point of hospitals generally gave necessary importance to the patient confidentiality practices. Compared in stitutions to ensure patient confidentiality much more importance was given in private hospitals where as less importance was given in the university hospitals.
