Erendiz Atasü is a feminist author who questions woman's individual and social position from different perspectives in her novels and short stories, courageously questions all the presented values of patriarchal system. The author expresses her views regarding gender over the identity formations of female characters that are different from each other in terms of level of education, age and social class. Atasü compares the collapsed civilizations with the civilizations reborn after their collapses in terms of "the problem of woman". This paper will examine how the author, in the light of a historical adventure, reflected the instances of feminity with a fictional narration. How the themes such as sexuality, marriage, love and senescence are discussed in the light of social gender roles will be presented after the analyses of six short stories in the first two chapters entitled as "Eski Zaman Masalları" and "Üçleme" of the author's story book "Kızıl Kale". The purpose of this paper is to reveal the differences as well as the similarities of female characters in their individual and social identity seek. Erendüz Atasü, opposing double-faced social ethics insulting woman body in her all books, often adresses the issue of identity search of female characters. In this respect, feminist critical method centering upon woman point of view will be used in the analyses of literary texts. Moreover, the reflections of the author's own gender into the internal structure of the text will be reviewed by considering the viewpoints of various theorists, particularly, the analysis of Foucault in respect to tools of power.
