In the rhetoric books are described ‘muhassinat-i lafziye and manewiya’ called literary arts in detail with examples. Literary arts has been described in the section of bedi of this books; and as name and definition and classification has been as different from each other. In this books metonymy, metaphor, simile, allusion is described in the beyan part seen as a narrative way. Consisting of bedi, beyan, meani sections in the number of rhetoric books there has been a significant increase after the Tanzimat. The source of rhetoric books usually Sekkâki (13th century scholar of rhetoric)'s Miftah and its summaries and commentaries has been. However, many new art are included in Miftah's commentaries and summaries. One of the literary arts located in rhetoric books also is tecahül-i arif. This art, in the Miftah with name of ‘sevku'l-ma'lûm overtime gayrih’ have been described. Tecahül, because of a joke, is described like he doesn’t know something known. This art, except for a few books, is described with tecahül-i arif name in the majority of rhetoric books. Sekaki, if changed also name of this art, due to the breach of decorum, this change has not been adopted in most of the book. Many books the definition of Sekkaki: "something known because of a joke is told like doesn't know." as has translated. This art, in rhetoric books after the Tanzimat also have taken place with tecâhül-i arif name; used only Recaizade istifham name. Also, didn't take place in rhetoric books tecahül as well as a title with istifham name. This term is used as a tool of tecâhül-i arif. In this article, tecahül-i arif is investigated in a comparative manner in rhetorical book.
