Children Literature is the one which addresses growth and development, dream, sense, thought and skills of children, and is created to contribute to entertainment while teaching. The concept of children literature is new in Turkey. The reading texts prepared in terms of the levels of age, taste and interest of Yrd. Doç. The first samples of Turkish Literature as to children are translation outputs from Western Literature. Hayriye, the subject of the relationship of children – literature and in the frame of this relationship is a good sample written in the 19th century. Hayriye is a moral and didactic masnevi which Nabi,who was the represent of hikemi style and one of the leading poets of the 17th century, paying importance to education, wrote it for his son Ebu’l-hayr Mehmed Çelebi. In this study, we stated the history of children literature in highlight and investigated Hayriyye of Nabi in terms of children and education.
