Rumi is one of the sufi poets who has exerted an influence in almost every period of Turkish literature starting from the time he had lived. Especially his Mashnawi has been translated into Turkish several times and various commentaries have been written on this work. This study of Asafi titled Cazira-i Mashnawi is a work which is formed by the translation in verse of the couplets selected from Mashnawi. In this paper, we introduced Cazira-i Mashnawi and gave the translation of the first eighteen couplets of Mashnawi, which is a part of Asafi’s work, with an aim to give an impression about the mentioned work.
