Negation category that address to an unperformed/uncompleted event or case has a close relationship with certainty category which reflects information of the speaker’s sureness and trust with the mentioned event or case. In the existence of this relationship, there is the influence of deep structure, data background which is given in the clauses and metalinguistic usage of negation. The realis and irrealis discrimination which lies behind modality shapes certainty and negation semantic field and arranges the relationship between them. According to the mentioned modality discrimination, negation is situated in the irrealis side. Irreal expressions can be seen in the narration of uncompleted or unperformed event or case. Making the certainty close to negation is speaker’s having information on an event or case that hasn’t (yet) come true in real life. Mentioned information has certainty from the point of speaker. It is expected markers to be mutual which shows certainty and negation category in language. When considered from this point of view, the markers which encode negation and certainty in sentences can be organised in three groups: 1. The ones which seem negative and carry negation and certainty, 2. The ones which seem negative and carry affirmativeness and certainty, 3. The ones which seem positive and carry negation and certainty.
