Studies of Russell have been very influential for many other following studies. Changes occur in the field of education in time. These changes enabled government to have rights on the education system. Even though some people have supported the government’s intervention on education, most of the people stood against this idea. Russell was against this idea of government’s intervention on education and he criticized this situation as he thought that the government see education as a tool to transfer its ideologies to the citizens. According to Russell, schools are the places where ideology is transferred to students in a planned way. Russell thought that if the aim of the education is to transfer theideology of the government the outcome will be students who are not self-sufficient, who can not think, who do not question and who do not realize their individuality which leads to having type of students who are not different than robots. In this study, the role of the government on a child’s education is discussed according to the Russell’s education system by using the information of Russell’s education principles, general education principles, and the intervention of government on education.
