Na’t is the general name of poems at Turkish and Iranian literatures praising Prophet Muhammad. At Turkish literature, we can see the first examples of this kind of poems in Qutadgu Bilig of Yusuf Has Khacib. It was popular at the every period op literature and, hence, it became a tradition. The love for Prophet Muhammad and the hope to reach the shefaat urged poets to write na’t. The best examples of this kind of poem are at Turkish classical literature. Qaside of Water of Fuzuli is the best but, perhaps the second is Musaddas-i Mutaqarrir of Sheikh Galib. According to all men of letters and critics, Sheikh Galib is the lastest great poet of classical poem. His poems, especially, written on view of Sabk-i Hindi, are rich according to their meanings. This richness could be seen at his na’ts. He begins his divan with a na’t written against a qasida of Fahim-i Qadim, finishing as ruz u sheb. Besides, there have been na’ts, written as musaddas, gazal, masnawi and rubai. He wrote all his na’ts in the manner of enthusiastic and harmonious. At these poets he praised Prophet Muhammad with different names and roles and described his moral and physical peculiarities. He explained his magics and superior features. Also, he supported his claims with Qoran and Khadis. In this paper, we explained the tradition of na’t. Later, we searched Sheikh Galib and his poems. These invaluable poems have shown us the love for Prophet Mohammad of Sheikh Galib. They are important for us because they show the features of prophetic post.
