Theaching the values of nations to future generations and being understood comprehendly by them is very important. The importance of the transferring these values of the texts used in schools can not be refused. It is clear that in teaching the values of Turkish nation,"Mustafa Kemal's Adressing To Turkish Youth" is in the first place. In understanding the text, it is important to know that in which rate The students know the contextual meaning of the words. In this research, the level of the intelligibility of "Mustafa Kemal's Adressing To Turkish Youth" for the students who are the candidates of High School of Teacher and Education Faculty is determined and some advices are given according to the results. It is a descriptive study that consisting of some words located in "Mustafa Kemal's Adressing To Turkish Youth" and a success test consisting of open-ended questions. The group of the research consists 119 students from Siirt Anatolian Teacher High School and 110 students from Turkish Teaching Department of Siirt University –Education Faculty. It is identified that university students know % 49,50 of the words and the high school students know %24,83 of them. In general, "müdafaa", "istikbal", "yegane", "namüsait" words are very close to the known rate. Also, It is observed that the rate of knowing some words is lower than expected. For example, "Dahili" words 62.73% of university students' known by 22.73% of the high school students I have known.62.73% of university students built the word 'known by the 22.69% of high school students' was known by u. "Harici" words 62.73% of university students' known by 21.85% of the high school students I have known. Moreover, While the meaning of the word “ müstevli “ is known by % 5,54 of the university students , %100 of the high school students don’t know it. And while the meaning of the word “ cebren” is known by %55,45 of the university students , İt is known by just % 0,84 of the high school students .
