In this study, verbal suffix –AmmAwhich is used as a negative form of possibility marker –Abilme-, will be explored in the Turkish dialect of Halhal. In the dialect of Halhal which is a city in Erdebil province located in north-western Iran, alongside the structure of –Abilme-, the same in the standard Azerbaijani Turkish, another structure –AmmAis being used having the same function. The author tried to deal with the origin of this structure considering the materials of Old Turkish and modern Turkish dialects.
