Gagauzian Literature is the youngest among contemporary Turkish Literatures. Gagauz community has not published much more works in their mother tongue because of having an alphabet for just fifty-one year, the lack of the number of intellectuals, and other limitations and facilities. In 1957, after accepting a version of Cyrillic alphabet, they started to publish literary works. Before this, Gagauz poets were not able to publish their works. In Gagaudian literature writing in verse depicts priority to prose writing. In this study, after introducing the Gagauzian poetry, we will examine the role of Dionis Tanasoğlu in improving the Gagauzian ∗ Yard. Doç.
