Instruction Of Words In 8th Grade Turkish Course Books Which Are Targeted To Get Acquired To Students And Their Relation To Internal Lexicon (The Case Of Mersin)

In this study, the target words formed by the themes of 8th gradeTurkish course boks and their acquisition into the internal lexicon ofthe students were focused on. The research was carried out in Mersin,Silifke with three different settlements in the district, county-townvillage.The study was realized with the participation of one hundredstudents who were treated with an application file of one hundredninety-three words.The raw data obtained at the end of research was analyzed withdata analysis package, SPSS 16. The target words were focused on inaccordance with the residential units and the relation between thegender and other themes. Considering the compliance with the alreadydetermined criteria, obtained frequencies and percentages weredisplayed with the use of charts and graphs. Additionally, in order toidentify and signify the difference between the gender of participantsand the averages of the words stored in their internal dictionaries, t-testwas used.For the display of the difference between the students’ types ofsettlements and the average of the target words, one-way analysis ofvariance (one way ANOVA); and to determine the group and groups thatthis difference was in favor of, the post hoc data analysis techniqueswere used. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows: Interms of teaching the target words contained in readings of Turkishcourse boks and aimed to be included in the participants’ internaldictionaries, with the significant difference of p<0.5 female participants(43) were noted to score over the male ones (57) with seventeen words(except for the word ‘slave’) out of one hundred ninety-three given in theapplication file. Significant differences were obtained between theacquisition of the words and types of campuses (county-town-village) ofthe participants (100). Additionally, it was found that there was norelevance between the themes and acquisition degree of one hundredtarget words collected from the all six themes. It was also seen thatthemes were determined without taking the principles of relativity andfrom easy-to difficult aspect into consideration. Bu araştırmada ilköğretim sekizinci sınıf Türkçe ders kitaplarında yer alan temaların barındırdığı, öğrencilere kazandırılması hedeflenen sözcüklerin öğretimi ve bu sözcüklerin öğrenci iç sözlüğüne alınabilirliği araştırılmıştır. Araştırma, Mersin ili, Silifke ilçesinde bulunan üç farklı yerleşim yeri, ilçe-belde-köy okullarında öğrenim gören toplam yüz öğrenciye, yüz doksan üç sözcüğün yer aldığı veri toplama aracı ile uygulanmıştır.Araştırma sonunda elde edilen ham veriler, Spss 16 veri analizi paket programı ile çözümlenmiştir. Öğrencilere kazandırılması hedeflenen sözcükler, okul yerleşim birimi, cinsiyet ve temalar arası ilişki çatıları altında incelenmiş; belirlenen ölçütlerin doğrultusunda uygunluk frekansları ve yüzdelikleri tablolar ve grafikler aracılığıyla irdelenmiştir. Ayrıca araştırma örnekleminde bulunan öğrencilerin cinsiyetleri ile iç sözlüklerinde yer alabilen sözcüklerin ortalamaları arasındaki anlamsal farklılığı ortaya çıkarmak ve anlamlandırmak amacıyla t-test’ten yararlanılmıştır.Öğrencilerin öğrenim gördükleri yerleşim birimine göre sözcük ortalamaları arasındaki farklılığın ortaya konulmasında ise tek yönlü varyans analizi (one way anova) ve bu farklılığın hangi grup ya da gruplar lehine olduğunu belirlemek için post hoc veri çözümleme tekniklerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularından elde edilen sonuçlar aşağıdaki gibi özetlenebilir:1. Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki metinlerde yer alan öğrenci iç sözlüğüne kazandırılması hedeflenen sözcüklerin öğretimi bağlamında öğrencilere uygulanan çalışma dosyasında yer alan yüz doksan üç, p<0.5 anlamsal farklılığa göre on yedi, sözcüğün doğru kullanım değerleri irdelendiğinde örneklem grubunda yer alan kız öğrencilerin (43), erkek öğrencilere (57) göre sözcük kullanımında (köle sözcüğü hariç) üstünlük sağladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.2. Araştırma örneklemini oluşturan yüz öğrencinin eğitim-öğretim gördüğü ve sözcüklerin edinimi doğrultusunda okul yerleşke türleri (ilçe-belde-köy) arasında anlamlı farklılıklar oluştuğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.3. İlköğretim sekizinci sınıf Türkçe ders kitaplarında yer alan toplam altı temanın içerisinde bulunan ve öğrencilere kazandırılması hedeflenen toplam yüz doksan üç sözcüğün, birey iç sözlüğünealınabilme ortalamalarının temalar arası bir uyum özelliği taşımadığı vetemaların kolaydan zora, öğrenciye görelik ilkeleri göz önündetutulmadan oluşturulduğu sonucuna varılmıştır
