A Prosaic Book of Advices Written in 16. Century: Abdulkerim Bin Mehmed’s Nesayihu’l-Ebrar

Works that direct people to the good, the beauty, the truth and raise moral and benefical individuals for society are called book of advice. These moral and didactic works have poetical and prosaic samples. One of the prosaic book of advices is Nesayihu’l-ebrar, which was written by Abdulkerim bin Mehmed, grandson of Şeyhulislam Ebussuud Efendi who was famous for his shaykh al-islam position and his many books written in law, hermeneutics, doctrines, language and literature. In this article, Nesayihu’l-ebrar, which has many transcripts in national libraries and libraries in abroad, will be introduced. The life of Abdulkerim bin Mehmed will be laid emphasis on and four transcripts of the work will be criticized comperatively.
