One of the significant figures of the Turkmen-Sovie t, the writer/poet Hıdır Deryayev was born in Merv 1905 and died in 19 88. He is wrote novels, plays and poetry. Among his best-known works are Ik bal, Harasat, Mukaddes Ocak (novels), Mehri, Hoca Nepes, Amiderya (plays) and Arzuv, Okunçmi, Maslahat (long poems). Đn This study the novel named “Harasat” is examined in a comporative manner from the perspective of soc ialist realism in term of such issues as old and new educational system, agri caltu e and life style.
