In this article, Yahya Kemal Beyatlı’s poem called “Rindlerin Ölümü” will be evaluated within the framework of Russian Formalists’ approaches. In this context, firstly, parallelism between Yahya Kemal Beyatlı and the Russian Formalists concerning their approach to language will be revealed and then “Rindlerin Ölümü” will be examined within this theoretical context. In this context, such aspects as Yahya Kemal Beyatlı’s concerns on choosing words, his considerations while forming verses and his insistence foregrounding the poetic discourse will be demonstrated.
