Pârepârezâde Ahmed Çelebi, who lived in the 16th century, is originally from Bursa. After getting a good education, he worked as a lecturer and judge. The poet served most of his career as a judge in Rumelia, and also died in this region. His tomb is in the garden of Turhan Bey’s son Ömer Bey Mosque, in Tırhala, which is in the borders of Greece today. When Pârepârezâde couldn’t get an expected promotion or pay rise, he wrote a masnavi with 24 verses. In this masnavi, he depicted his disappointment and offense with a simple Turkish and intimate tone. In this text, Pârepârezâde Ahmed Çelebi, who served nearly his entire career in Rumelia, not only narrated his personal feelings but he also shared his experiences and observations.
