Accepting Islam the Turks entered a new cultural environment. In time they became the main representatives of this cultural environment and they transformed it in a civilization. This change and transformation occurred as a mutual influence. The mutual influence in question affected not only Turkish material life but also their social and art life and as a result of this most of the Turkish oral narrations or narrative elements are wrapped up in Islamic form. On the other side new narrations are created within struggle for other societies embracing new religion adopted and led by Turks. The most reflecting type of Turkish society fought for the religion of Islam is “ghazi” type. It is possible to see in different eposes the “ghazi” type which is the new form of the “alp” type.
