Gültekin Sâmanoğlu, affiliated with the Hisar echole, lived between 1927 and 2003, was a Turkish writer who is mostly known with his poems. He drew attention with his poem titled “That Woman (O Kadın)”, published in Çınaraltı journal, and later his work published in several established national journals, such as Hisar, Türk Edebiyatı, Çağrı, Türk Dili, Millî Kültür. The topic of the current study is the grounds of Gültekin Samanoğlu’s work that is an important part of the Hisar echole that has a dominant place in Turkish literature. First, the influences of poet’s family life, childhood, youth, student life and social life on his poems are searched. Later, possible mentors from his educational background that had an influence on his work, poets that he read often or followed his/her footsteps are discussed and the connection with his work is established through concrete examples. * ArĢ.
