Refik Halid Karay, gives the reader a real life sections in his stories. Thanks to this feature, his works can be considered a sociological document. The author’s story called Yatık Emine tells the readers how a prostitute was left to death by the society in a realistic way. Karay in this story, addresses contradiction of the people worried about morality in a different perspective and criticizes society in an indirect manner. This study focused on the problems identified individual and social ethics in Refik Halid Karay’s story called Yatık Emine.
