For understanding old Turkish Literature, it must be searched with all its instruments. One of the lots of questions is about laughing. What for was old people laughing and how was this situation reflecting in old Turkish literature. We want to find the answer of this question in old Turkish literature, especially in “Tezkire”s. Old Turkish classic writers is used “hezl”, “mesel”, “kıssa”, “mutâyebe”, “mülâtafa”, “ta„riz”, “nekre” instead of joke, fun, witty and etc... In this work we want to analyze these terms in “Tezkire”s.
