Kutadgu Bilig which was written at 1069-1070 is one of the most important book of Turkic language, literature, politics and culture. When we look at the book its possible to find so much datas about the Turkish social life. In this context Kutadgu Bilig contains too much word that they were owned to Karakhanid Turkic lexicology. In this paper we do an etymological essay of the word simiş found only at Kutadgu Bilig. There isn’t so much work on this word’s reading, meaning and structure. First we touch upon the reading and interpreting of the simiş at Kutadgu Bilig studies. Then we start out to explain our opinions from the historical and modern texts of Turkic dialects.
