Bodur Minareden Öte (beyond the shortie minaret) by Yusuf Atılgan is divided to three volumes named “Kasabadan”(from the town), “Köyden”(from the village) and “Kentten”(from the city). The first volume that entitled “Kasabadan” is consisted of two stories named “Evdeki” (lefted on the shelf) and “Saatların Tıkırtısı”(tick of the hours). In this work, the space element of these stories is analyzed. The space has taken as a synthesis of three elements: place, environment and atmosphere. It has been determined the place as a geographical, the environment as a sociological and the atmosphere as a physical side of the space. The life of town is qualified with narrowness in terms of geographical, sociological and physical points. The persons of the stories got bored of the town life. Because of that they are continually in an emotion of escape.
