The Relationship Between Funcions of Curses and the Their Sentence Structures on Turkiye Turkish Dialects of Eastern Groups

The curses used not for only bad wishes, but also for many other functions in spoken language. These are curse (exact curse and curse which looks like pray in apperance) to swear, to beoman and cussword. Primarily a classification was made according to the “target person” to whom bad wishes of the curses are directed in order to determine these functions. Target person in the sentence of a curse could be “you (anyone else but the speaker)”, “I (the speaker himself)” or “nobody”. There is no other option apart from them. The sentences of curse which is directed to “you (anyone else but the speaker)” are exact curses and only this group of curses is used for curse function. The sentences of curse which is directed to “I (the speaker himself)” are used for two purposes. These purposes are to swear and to beoman. The sentences of curse which is directed to “nobody” are used for cussword function. It is questioned whether there is a relationship between sentence structures of curses and the their functions above mentioned, in this article.
