This study aims at presenting the investigation conducted towards the performance of the egresses of the Executive Secretary Course from University of Passo Fundo, whose objective is to verify the performance and professional growth of these subjects, bearing in mind the necessity of the Course to focus its student’s education in consonance with the demands of the labor market. Also, trying to highlight the importance of the scientific demarcation in the secretarial field, objecting the consolidation of the professional identity, this study discusses the evolution of the area and points out the way it is connected with the Advisory Sciences. The investigation, involving 122 executive secretaries, is classified as bibliographic, documental and data collection. The questionnaire was the main instrument to collect the data and the analysis was done from the codification of the answers and the tabulation of the data so it was possible to relate it with the established theory. This study has revealed the importance of the real understanding of the secretarial area, making it possible to consolidate the so desired professional identity. Besides, it was found that the Executive Secretary Course from UPF provides its egresses the satisfactory qualification to meet the needs of the organizations, guaranteeing the factors of employability and professional growth. The study reinforces the promotion of actions in order to broaden the recognition of the profession considering not only the executive secretaries’ assignments but also the financial recognition.
