Descubrimiento de Salvia buchananii (Lamiaceae) en estado silvestre en Querétaro, México

ResumenSe registran por primera vez poblaciones silvestres de Salvia buchananii Hedge, después de 50 años de su descripción a partir de plantas cultivadas. Las poblaciones de esta especie se encontraron en la parte noreste del estado de Querétaro, México; en bosque mesófilo de montaña, bosque de pino-encino y encinar arbustivo. El taxón es afín a Salvia blepharophylla Brandegee (secc. Brandegeia). Se presenta una descripción amplia, una ilustración, fotografías y un mapa de la distribución geográfica de la especie.AbstractSalvia buchananni Hedge is reported for the first time in the wild, after 50 years of having been described from cultivated plants. This species inhabits cloud forests, pine-oak forests and oak thickets, in the northeastern extreme of the state of Querétaro, Mexico. This taxon is similar to Salvia blepharophylla Brandegee (sect. Brandegeia). A broad description, an illustration, photographs, and a map of geographic distribution of the plant are presented
