Charting Feminine Universes with Papier-mâché: the Takamatsu-hariko Tradition in the Collections of the Ethnological Museum of Barcelona

L’objectiu d’aquest article és traçar la biografia i mostrar l’ús social d’uns petits objectes de paper maixé pertanyents a la tradició de Takamatsu-hariko (Japó) que es conserven al Museu Etnològic de Barcelona. A través del seu estudi veurem el paper representatiu i simbòlic que tenen dins l’univers(os) femení japonès i podrem accedir a llegendes, tradicions populars i antics costums relacionats amb l’imaginari femení.The aim of this paper is to trace the biography and show the social use of small papier-mâché objects belonging to the Japanese takamatsu-hariko tradition preserved in the Ethnological Museum of Barcelona. By studying them, we will see its representative and symbolic role in the Japanese female universe(s), and we will be able to access legends, ancient traditions and customs related to the female imagery.El objetivo de este artículo es trazar la biografía y mostrar el uso social de unos pequeños objetos de papel maché pertenecientes a la tradición de Takamatsu-hariko (Japón) que se conservan en el Museu Etnològic de Barcelona. A través de su estudio veremos el papel representativo y simbólico que tienen dentro del universo femenino japonés y podremos acceder a leyendas, tradiciones populares y antiguas costumbres relacionadas con el imaginario femenino
