Nacionalinio saugumo strategija (NSS) Jungtinėse Amerikos valstijose yra vienas svarbiausių užsienio politikos gaires apibrėžiančių dokumentų. Straipsnyje pateikiamas naujausios JAV NSS (2015 m.) vertinimas. Dokumentas analizuojamas ir vertinimas pagal tokius kriterijus kaip deklaruojamas JAV statusas, vaidmuo, interesai tarptautinėje arenoje, pateiktas grėsmių bei tarptautinių santykių veikėjų traktavimas, deklaruojami užsienio politikos instrumentai, strategijos ir dokumento svarba Baltijos šalims. 2015 m. NSS analizė parodė, jog dokumentas gali būti vertinamas kaip racionali ir adekvati reakcija į pokyčius tarptautinėje arenoje: B. Obamos administracija persvarstė prioritetus dėl regionų (skiriama daugiau dėmesio Europai), grįžo prie kietosios galios naudojimo akcentavimo, gerokai pakeitė oficialiai deklaruojamą poziciją dėl Rusijos (kuri dokumente traktuojama kaip agresorė), atskirai strategijoje išskyrė Baltijos šalis kaip vertingas JAV sąjungininkes.The National Security Strategy (NSS) of the United States is one of the most important documents that defines foreign policy guidelines of US. The article provides evaluation of the latest National Security Strategy of the US. Analysis and evaluation of the document is based on the following criteria: US status, role and interests in international arena declared by B. Obama’s administration, perception of threats and actors of international relations, declared foreign policy strategies and instruments, documents’ implications in the Baltic States. Analysis of NSS of 2015 indicated that the document might be perceived as rational and proportionate response to changes in the international arena: B. Obama’s administration reconsidered its regional priorities (in the NSS, more attention is given to Europe), perceived hard power instruments as a valuable assets of foreign policy significantly changed position towards Russia (which is declared as an aggressor in the document), and distinguished the Baltic States as valuable allies of the US
