Digitalization and the Internet have changed the way we see the world, the way we communicate and receive media-cultural content. Politically, they have allowed many citizen movements, most of them born after 15M in Spain, to develop their political vocation and run for election, such as the past European Parliament Election of May 2014. The reflection about our traditional politics conception is one of the consequences that new digital technologies have aroused in this social field. This work constitutes an analysis of four new Spanish political organizations who, thanks to the Internet, have been able to speak out and get to be known by the public. This study has been carried out in the following time frame: from May 9th (when the CIS survey on the possible outcomes of the election was published) to the day before it the Election: May 24th. It proposes a quantitative and qualitative methodology to be applied to the main news related with the studied movements appeared in the “European Elections” section of six conventional digital media that have different points of view: El Pais, El Mundo, ABC, La Razon, Publico and Eldiario.es. These media continue to be the main public’s sources of information, but the dynamics of social networks and the Internet have become powerful, as we see in these examples, to integrate new political movements into the communication framework.
