Biomedical image processing is a new interdisciplinary field that combines mathematics, computer science, medical imaging and many other areas. It takes advantage of mathematical theory, and with the help of the recent highly-developed information technology, biomedical image processing technique is gaining much attention. The medical science relies much more heavily on medical images produced by different advanced equipment nowadays to acquire information in order to make accurate diagnosis and offer appropriate diagnosis. Since medical images can reflect the condition of a patient more directly, thus increasing the accuracy of diagnosis.
