It´s well know that the 1812 spanish constitution (constitution of cadiz) is the constitution with the most prominent international projection of our constitutional history, influencing in a decisive way the European and south American constitutions. the research of the influences of the liberal constitutionalism, (constitution of cadiz was one of the most important examples of these liberal constitutions), is essential for an adequate knowledge of the origins of this liberal thoughts that influenced mainly south American constitutionalism. this paper tries to explain how influenced the 1812 spanish constitution to the brazilian one, analyzing previously the 1822 portuguese constitution and the impact of the ideas coming from Ultramar territories. the research in which this paper is based, tries to give light to an idea: how the 1812 spanish constitution influenced the brazilian constitution thanks to the portuguese liberal revolution of 1820.
