Open AccessLa historia del aprendizaje es en parte la historia de la cultura. En este artículo se aborda cómo se entendieron en la Edad Media las relaciones entre el conocimiento y el aprendizaje. En primer lugar se estudia la historia del conocimiento enciclopédico hasta la escolástica medieval; a continuación se analiza la concepción medieval de la historia y del libro, haciendo especial hincapié en su carácter sacral; el artículo termina analizando la concepción del conocimiento en los enciclopedistas, especialmente en la figura y obra de Vicente de Beauvais, a quien se debe la principal enciclopedia de esta época.
The history of Learning is partly the history of Culture. In this article we find an approach about the way the relationships between Knowledge and Learning were understood in the Middie Ages. Firstly there is and analysls of the history of encyclopedic knowledge till the scholastic medieval. Then, we find an analysls about the medieval conception of history and of the book, with and special stress in thelr sacred character. Lastly, the study analyces the conception of Knowledge in the enciclopedists, especially in the figure and work of Vincent of Beauvais, to whom the main encyclopedia of this time is owed.
