Violence is present in all contexts and happens in different ways: physical, psychological, sexual and neglect. The present study aimed at mapping the knowledge teachers have about family violence that reflects in school environment. 161 teachers of public schools in a country town in Parana state participated. We developed and teachers answered a likert questionnaire. Among other things, it was verified that participants were women (72%), with ages between 23 and 66, and average time of formation and working of 17 years, half from human science field. 46.6% of participants stated that they had identified some case of family violence. As to the knowledge of family violence, most teachers answered as expected about: consequences to student behavior, aggressors’ characteristics, information for teachers, general information about violence. When focusing on possible interventions, expected answers were given by 48.86% of participants. Results pointed out teachers know about violence; however they do not know how to properly intervene.
