The Program of the Association of College and Reference Libraries

S AFTER ITS ORGANIZATION, the Association of College and Reference Libraries established a Policies Committee headed by Dr. Carl M . White. This committee for the past two years has devoted much study to the Association's organization, scope, and growth. It has also sought and benefited from the advice of numerous interested members. The final report of the committee, published herewith, was presented to the Association's Board of Directors at Boston. In the belief that this document is of fundamental importance in guiding the future development of the Association, the board voted for its publication in College and Research Libraries.
