Leveraging Information Technology in Automating School Management and Student Activities by Successfully Integrating a Javabased School Management Application Software

Considering the rapidly growing world\udpopulation and increased enrolment in full course primary\udschool education around the world, this paper elucidates\udkey means of leveraging Information Technology for the\udeffective and efficient management of the increasing\udpressure associated with schools’ administrative functions\udand students’ basic activities. Primarily narrowing down\udto the basic African education framework, this paper\udsheds more light on the methods which can be adopted\udfor the development of such processes through improved\udInformation Technology platforms. In doing this, the\uddesign and implementation of the Jasper School\udManagement System (a school management solution\uddeveloped by the author) will be used as a case study.\udAlso, a brief highlight of the impact this Information\udTechnology initiative will have on institutions where it is\uddeployed. The Jasper School Management Software\udbeing referenced was built using Java Programming\udLanguage in conjunction with MySQL. It was produced\udto help improve management activities of schools\udespecially in developing countries of the world, with 8\udmajor school management modules incorporated into it.\udAlso, the software is open-source i.e., open to adaptations,\udimprovements and free to download
