The problem of HIV infection in pregnancy should be considered through the prevention, detection, appropriate therapy and follow-up. Prevention and detection involve cooperation between the services of preventive medicine and counseling and gynecological services. The follow-up and the delivery of HIV-positive pregnant women is made according to strict protocols and requires the cooperation of gynecologist and infectious disease specialist, as well as the expectant mother.
