ON THE NEED TO COMPILE A POLISH DICTIONARY OF MUSEUM CURATORS

The article documents all the actions whichhave already been undertaken to compile a PolishDictionary of Museum Curators. The co-operation of theNational Institute for Museums and Public Collections, theAdam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and the NationalMuseum in Poznań, and the Association of Polish MuseumProfessionals, Wielkopolska branch, and the project’s publicpartner and initiator, which has contributed to two symposiumsand a discussion panel. The opportunity to implementa long-term and nationwide project which serves to contributeto knowledge about the development of museology inPoland, consolidate the professional environment, and improvethe ethos of a profession which is similar to a publicservice, will be the substantive result of the events
