In 1953 a ground cruise was conducted in a spruce—alpine fir—lodgepole pine forest in central British Columbia, and an aerial photo stand volume table developed for the area. Two years later a more intensive ground cruise was conducted over part of the same area. There was no significant difference between the total volume determined from the intensive ground cruise and that from an aerial photo cruise.
