This study aimed to evaluate the seed germination and seedling development of broccoli in function of different substrates and temperatures. The work was accomplished in the Laboratory of Technology and Analyses of Seeds at the Agrarian Science Center at the Universidade Federal do Espirito Santo (CCA-UFES), Alegre-ES, Brazil. A completely randomized design was used with four replications of 25 seeds, in a 2 x 6 x 4 factorial outline, with two lots, six substrates (Plantmax ® (S1); Plantmax ® +Fertium ® 1 g dm -3 (S2); Plantmax ® +Fertium ® 2 g dm -3 (S3); soil+sand+manure (S4);
