The aim of the present study was to analyze the making of psychological tests, focusing on standardization and studies of validity and reliability. The objective of the research was to verify whether the tests of intelligence are valid and reliable or not, as well as to identify if the foreign tests present Brazilian standardization. Twenty six of the national tests of intelligence commercialized in Brazil were analyzed and the results indicated that most tests, national and international ones, present studies of validation and reliability, although some of them have not mentioned information concerning standardization, in the respective manual, as a sample of standardization and related variables. New studies are recommended, focusing on different tests or new analysis of the tests of intelligence. Keywords: psychological assessment; reliability and validity; construction of instruments
